Creators of visual work (especially in video, photography, illustration, graphic design, and/or product/interface design (UI/UX)), who are proficient in English (except for Japanese candidates, who must be proficient in Japanese), at least 18 years old (no advanced degree needed), and owner of a PayPal account or bank account in their name.

ASCA: Technical Assistance GrantsOpen to arts organizations in Alabama

Amount(s) rewarded. $500–$1000

Application fee. NA 

Who's eligible. Technical Assistance grants are available for special, one-time needs that are small in scale, and unexpected, for activities that are art-oriented or directly support art-oriented outcomes. 501(c)(3) nonprofit entities, or a public institution, such as schools or municipal governments, located in Alabama are eligible to apply. 

The Adolph & Esther Gottlieb Emergency GrantOpen to artists around the world

Amount(s) rewarded. Up to $15,000; most typically $5000

Application fee. NA 

Who's eligible. The Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Emergency Grant program is intended to provide interim financial assistance to qualified painters, printmakers, and sculptors whose needs are the result of an unforeseen, catastrophic incident, and who lack the resources to meet that situation. An artist must be able to demonstrate a minimum involvement of ten years in a mature phase of their work. Artists must work in the disciplines of painting, sculpture or printmaking.

Create Chula Vista Arts GrantOpen to artists residing in Chula Vista, California, or affiliated with an educational institution based in Chula Vista, as well as for-profit businesses based in Chula Vista

Who's eligible. Chula Vista is looking for arts projects that provide enriching and accessible cultural opportunities for the City’s residents and visitors. Chula Vista individual artists, arts organizations, and small businesses are encouraged to apply. It is strongly recommended that grant projects are collaborative, promote cultural equity and inclusion, and address community aspirations.

Eyebeam Center for the Future of Journalism Open CallOpen to artists around the world

Amount(s) rewarded. $500–$5000

Who's eligible. The Eyebeam Center for the Future of Journalism (ECFJ) is an experimental grant-making program that supports artists and artist-journalist teams producing innovative and revelatory journalistic work for major media outlets. The funds distributed to artists will assist with research, travel, and other expenses many media outlets struggle to cover, allowing stories that are often out of reach in today’s climate to be produced.  Artists with longer-term, research-intensive projects are also encouraged to apply. Applicants must have an existing commission letter from an editor.

Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency GrantsMust reside in the United States or U.S. territories

Who's eligible. Emergency Grants is a multi-disciplinary program that supports visual and performing artists whose work is of a contemporary, experimental nature. Artists who apply must:

Who's eligible. Projects created by or for audiences of underserved communities, or offers an innovative approach to the arts, historic preservation, or King County heritage and offers public benefit to King County residents and visitors.

Mary Mason Lemonade FundOpen to current or past theatre practitioners in San Francisco with terminal or life-threatening illnesses

Amount(s) rewarded. Up to $1000

Application fee. NA 

Who's eligible. Any resident of the San Francisco Bay Area who has worked professionally or vocationally in local theatre or has been an active participant in the theatre community, regardless of the income derived from work in the theatre (with two years' experience minimum in the last five years), and has received a diagnosis of a terminal or life-threatening medical illness or condition is eligible to apply for the program.

National Dance Project Travel FundOpen to artists and art staff in the United States

Amount(s) rewarded. Reimbursement of up to 50% of the requested travel expenses, not exceeding $500.

Application fee. NA 

Who's eligible. Artists currently in the creation or touring period of work supported by an NDP Production Grant; and curators, presenters, residency directors, or related staff (such as program or production staff) to either travel to see works currently eligible for NDP presentation support to determine if they will be able to present the NDP work in their community or to bring a currently-funded NDP artist to their community for meetings and advance planning to lay the groundwork for touring the NDP project.

National Theater Project Presenter Travel GrantOpen to art presenters and curatorial staff in the United States

Amount(s) rewarded. Reimbursement of up to 70% of the requested travel expenses (typically in the range of $700–$1000, but no maximum).

Who's eligible. Arts presenters and curatorial staff considering NTP projects are eligible to apply for travel support to see the project. Additionally, NTP Creation and Touring Grant recipients may apply for travel funds for themselves or invite others to apply for the purpose of promoting, publicizing, or otherwise advancing their NTP funded project.

Pollock-Krasner Foundation GrantOpen to artists around the world

Amount(s) rewarded. Up to $30,000

Application fee. NA 

Who's eligible. The Foundation provides financial resources for visual artists to create new work, acquire supplies, rent studio space, prepare for exhibitions, attend a residency and offset living expenses. The Foundation welcomes, throughout the year, applications from visual artists who are painters, sculptors and artists who work on paper, including printmakers.

smART ventures grantMust be based in the greater Seattle area

Amount(s) rewarded. Up to $500–$1000

Who's eligible. smART ventures seeks to widen arts and culture participation, particularly of

diverse or underserved communities. Individuals (including youth), groups, organizations, or communities of interest that offer a potential arts or cultural impact within the city of Seattle and need start-up or final investment funds for proposed public events are able to apply. Organizations do NOT have to have 501(c)(3) non-profit status to apply.

Lexi Rudnitsky Editor’s Choice AwardOpen to any poet residing in the U.S. who has previously published at least one full-length book of poems

Who's eligible. Any poet residing in the U.S. who has previously published at least one full-length book of poems. For the purposes of this contest, a "previously published full-length book of poems" is defined as a volume of more than 40 pages that has been made readily available through trade distribution (i.e. local and/or on-line booksellers, including Amazon.com). No one who has been a graduate student or faculty member in the English Department at the University of Missouri (Columbia) since 2008 is eligible for this award.

Hewlett 50 Arts CommissionsOpen to artists around the world who are partnered with a nonprofit organization in one of California's 11 Bay area counties

Deadline for Letter of Interest (LOI). March 8, 2022

Who's eligible. Hewlett 50 Arts Commissions applications require a partnership between a lead artist, based anywhere in the world AND a nonprofit organization (lead applicant) headquartered in one of eleven Bay Area counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Monterey, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, or Sonoma. Applicants are selected from the LOI round are invited to move on to the final round of the application process. Artists whose work focuses on:

CAC Grant: Arts & Cultural Organizations General Operating ReliefOpen to organizations based in California that have 501(c)(3) status or is fiscally sponsored by a 501(c)(3)

Application fee. NA

Who's eligible. The Arts & Cultural Organizations General Operating Relief grant program intends to provide relief funding to arts and cultural organizations who have experienced economic hardships due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This grant supports the well-being of California’s cultural vitality by helping sustain a robust and diverse arts workforce and infrastructure. Funds may be used to support any eligible expenses associated with the general operations of an arts or cultural organization, including but not limited to rent, utilities, and staff salaries. Applying for this grant does not restrict an organization from applying for other CAC grants.

CAC Grant: Cultural PathwaysOpen to organizations based in California that have 501(c)(3) status or is fiscally sponsored by a 501(c)(3)

Who's eligible. Cultural Pathways provides two years of operating support and a host of technical assistance and professional development tools, resources, and training to small, new and emerging organizations rooted in communities of color, recent immigrant and refugee communities, and tribal or indigenous groups.

CAC Grant: Impact ProjectsOpen to organizations based in California that have 501(c)(3) status or is fiscally sponsored by a 501(c)(3)

Deadline. 11:59 P.M. PST, March 9, 2022

Application fee. NA

Who's eligible. The Impact Projects grant program intends to support collaborative projects that center artists and artistic practice in responding to issues facing California at this time, including the pervasive social, political, and economic inequalities experienced by those communities most vulnerable to, and adversely affected by, the COVID-19 pandemic. This program prioritizes local artists and forms of arts and cultural expression that are unique to, and/or historically rooted in, the specific communities to be served.


Impact Projects grants support arts organizations for collaborations between local artist(s) and community members to develop and express their own creative and artistic goals and address a community-defined need. Collaborative projects will utilize various creative practices to impact social issues affecting their communities, including but not limited to systemic/structural racism, education, poverty, health disparities, housing insecurity, violence, food insecurity, cultural/social justice, intergenerational learning, environmental sustainability, and the digital divide.


Applying for the Impact Projects grant does not restrict an organization from applying for other CAC grants.

CAC Grant: Jump StArtsOpen to organizations based in California that have 501(c)(3) status or is fiscally sponsored by a 501(c)(3)

Deadline. 11:59 P.M. PST, March 9, 2022

Amount(s) rewarded. Up to $50,000

Application fee. NA

Who's eligible. The JUMP StArts program supports arts and culture education, apprenticeship and or mentorship via artists-in-residence programs for at-promise youth and young people through the age of 24. Activities may take place during or outside of traditional school hours in state- or county-operated correctional facilities; public settings; online; and in arts and culture venues, community centers, school sites, youth centers, and intergenerational settings.


Projects should prioritize system-engaged youth or youth who are especially vulnerable to being engaged in or by the justice system, and the project should be tailored specifically to respond to their needs.

CAC Grant: Reentry Through the ArtsOpen to organizations based in California that have 501(c)(3) status or is fiscally sponsored by a 501(c)(3)

Application fee. NA

Who's eligible. Reentry Through the Arts supports arts and culture programs for adults who have been incarcerated within correctional institutions and reinforces the direct impact that arts and culture have on the health, welfare, and economic well-being of all Californians. By focusing on the principles of restorative justice, transformative justice, and reconciliation, Reentry Through the Arts elevates projects that utilize arts and culture as part of a holistic approach to supporting the successful transition of formerly incarcerated individuals back into their communities.

CAC Grant: State-Local PartnersArt agencies based in California

Application fee. NA

Who's eligible. The State-Local Partnership program provides general operating support and technical assistance for county-designated local arts agencies. The purpose of the program is to foster cultural development on the local level through a partnership between the State and the counties of California. The nature of this partnership includes funding, information exchange, cooperative activities, and leadership. The partnership enables individuals, organizations, and communities to create, present, and preserve the arts of all cultures to enrich the quality of life for all Californians.

Make Some Weird Stuff Mini-GrantOpen to comics artists 

Deadline. March 19, 2022

Amount(s) rewarded. Four $500 mini-grants to four comics artists

Application fee. NA

Who's eligible. Comics artists who are at least 18 years old and have not previously published or have upcoming work via a traditional publishing outlet (previous work in indie anthologies funded via crowdsourcing platforms are okay). These funds can be used by the comics artist in whatever way is needed to support themselves in the creation of a short self-published work (up to 50 pages). Grant applicants must provide a working Paypal, Venmo or Zelle email address. 

Black Realities GrantOpen to artists who self-identify as Black and can be from or reside anywhere in the world.

Deadline. March 20, 2022, 4:00 PM PST

Amount(s) rewarded. $5,000

Application fee. NA

Who's eligible. Lead creators who are Black and whose project centers the perspective of Black folx, where Black thoughts and characters are the project's core. Projects are encouraged to explore the varied conditions, experiences, resilience, and joy within the Black global community. All formats, genres, and categories of screen-based projects will be considered including films, episodic stories, games, apps, VR/AR experiences, photojournalism, and more.

Creative Capital: Wild Futures AwardOpen to working artists who are at least 25 years old and be a US citizen, permanent legal resident, or O-1 visa holder

Deadline for Letter of Inquiry (LOI). April 1, 2022

Amount(s) rewarded. Up to $50,000 

Application fee. NA

Who's eligible. We invite artists to propose experimental, risk-taking projects in the performing arts, technology, literature, visual arts, and moving image, which push boundaries formally and thematically, and/or venture into wild, out-there, never-before-seen concepts and future universes real or imagined. Artists must submit an LOI at this stage in order to be considered for the next stage in the selection process.


Interested applicants are encouraged to attend a Zoom info session. The next available info session is March 22, 2022 at 3:00 PM EST. Registration is required.

Rauschenberg Dancer Emergency GrantsOpen to to professional dancers who are at least 21 years old,  based in one of the 50 states, a Tribal Nation, a U.S. Territory, or the District of Columbia, and have a dire financial emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Who's eligible. New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) is proud to partner with the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation to administer Rauschenberg Dancer Emergency Grants, a new emergency grant program for professional dancers. “Dire financial emergencies“ include the lack or imminent endangerment of essentials such as housing, medicine/healthcare, utilities, and food. If you were displaced due to COVID-19, expenses to enable you to return to your working home base are eligible. You must demonstrate an urgent and critical need for emergency support in your application.


Applicants must demonstrate recent and sustained activity as a professional dancer (in any stage/performance style, including aerial, ballet, hip-hop, jazz, modern, tap, and traditional/folk) over the last 3-4 years in public-facing performances. National Endowment for the Arts: Creative Writing FellowshipsOpen to poets who are citizens or permanent residents of the U.S.

Who's eligible. Applications are welcome from poets who have published original work between January 1, 2015, and March 10, 2022. Eligible publications include a volume of 48 pages or more of poetry, or 20 or more individual poems or pages of poetry that appear in at least five literary journals, anthologies, or publications which regularly include poetry as a portion of their format.

Vera List Center FellowshipsOpen to international journalists, scholars, activists, visual and performing artists, critics, public intellectuals, curators, and cultural practitioners working in any field where they engage art and politics.

Deadline. March 13, 2022, 11:59 pm EST

Amount(s) rewarded. Two-year, non-residential fellowship with a $15,000 research stipend as well as extensive curatorial and professional development services to support the fellowship project from conception to production and presentation,  as well as a separate, limited travel, production, and presentation budget is made available in discussion with and at the discretion of the VLC.

Who's eligible. Journalists, scholars, activists, visual and performing artists, critics, public intellectuals, curators, and cultural practitioners working in any field where they engage art and politics are encouraged to apply. We’re interested in projects that creatively and rigorously approach the 2022–2024 Focus Theme: Correction* in content and form, and make an intellectual and artistic contribution that advances the understanding of the act of correction.

LIFT–Early Career Support for Native Artists programOpen to emerging Native writers and/or artists in the visual or performing arts

Deadline. March 16, 2022, 5:00 pm PST

Amount(s) rewarded. $10,000

Application fee. NA

Who's eligible. Up to 20 artists will be awarded. Eligible applicants must be individual Native artists working in dance/choreography, fiction/poetry writing, film/video, multi-disciplinary arts, music, performance art, theater and screenplay writing, traditional arts, or 2D + 3D visual arts. Artist applicant must be an enrolled member or citizen of a federally-recognized or state-recognized American Indian tribe or Alaska Native corporation, or of Native Hawaiian ancestry. We encourage artists to apply who are shaping their practices and for whom the award may serve as a launching point in their career.
