Adobe Creative Residency Community FundOpen to artists around the world who are at least 18 years old

Amount(s) rewarded. $500–$5000

Who's eligible. Creators of visual work (especially in video, photography, illustration, graphic design, and/or product/interface design (UI/UX)), who are proficient in English (except for Japanese candidates, who must be proficient in Japanese), at least 18 years old (no advanced degree needed), and owner of a PayPal account or bank account in their name.

The Adolph & Esther Gottlieb Emergency GrantOpen to artists around the world

Amount(s) rewarded. Up to $15,000; most typically $5000

Who's eligible. The Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Emergency Grant program is intended to provide interim financial assistance to qualified painters, printmakers, and sculptors whose needs are the result of an unforeseen, catastrophic incident, and who lack the resources to meet that situation. An artist must be able to demonstrate a minimum involvement of ten years in a mature phase of their work. Artists must work in the disciplines of painting, sculpture or printmaking.

The Awesome Foundation: Homelessness Open to artists globally, but must be submitted in English

Amount(s) rewarded. $1000

Who's eligible. The Awesome Foundation is an ever-growing worldwide community devoted to forwarding the interest of awesome in the universe. Additional grants in a variety of categories or "chapters" are given out, including grants for projects taking place in specific global and U.S. cities.

The Awesome Foundation: On the Water Grant Open to artists globally, but must be submitted in English

Amount(s) rewarded. $1000

Who's eligible. The Awesome Foundation is an ever-growing worldwide community devoted to forwarding the interest of awesome in the universe. Additional grants in a variety of categories or "chapters" are given out, including grants for projects taking place in specific global and U.S. cities.


For this chapter, The Awesome Foundation is interested in "proposals where a strong connection to the water has been established and where you can provide us with a clear sense of your project’s anticipated reach."

Colorado Artist Relief Fund Open to artists in Colorado

Amount(s) rewarded. Up to $1000

Who's eligible. The Colorado Artist Relief Fund supports artists experiencing economic distress as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Disciplines include visual, digital, film, music, performing, and teaching. Artists will need to show that their incomes are being adversely affected due to the cancellation of events, classes, performances, and other creative work.


Grant funding may be used for basic expenses including food, rent, medical costs, childcare. It may also be used for the development of skills, applications, or equipment that will allow you to transition your income-generating practices to online or virtual platforms or practices.

Epic MegaGrantsOpen to developers around the world

Amount(s) rewarded. $5000–$500,000

Application fee. NA 

Who's eligible. Epic Games is looking to support anyone doing amazing things with Unreal Engine or for the 3D graphics ecosystem. Grants cover a variety of endeavors from game development, architecture projects, and film/TV production, to academic uses and software tool development.

Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency GrantsMust reside in the United States or U.S. territories

Timeline tip. Best to start process at least eights weeks from when funding is needed

Amount(s) rewarded. $500–$3000

Who's eligible. Emergency Grants is a multi-disciplinary program that supports visual and performing artists whose work is of a contemporary, experimental nature. Artists who apply must:

Mary Mason Lemonade FundOpen to current or past theatre practitioners in San Francisco with terminal or life-threatening illnesses

Amount(s) rewarded. $250, $500, $1000

Who's eligible. Any resident of the San Francisco Bay Area who has worked professionally or vocationally in local theatre or has been an active participant in the theatre community, regardless of the income derived from work in the theatre (with two years' experience minimum in the last five years), and has received a diagnosis of a terminal or life-threatening medical illness or condition is eligible to apply for the program.

National Dance Project Travel FundOpen to artists and art staff in the United States

Timeline tip. Application is due 40 days or more prior to the date of departure.

Amount(s) rewarded. Reimbursement of up to 50% of the requested travel expenses, not exceeding $500.

Who's eligible. Artists currently in the creation or touring period of work supported by an NDP Production Grant; and curators, presenters, residency directors, or related staff (such as program or production staff) to either travel to see works currently eligible for NDP presentation support to determine if they will be able to present the NDP work in their community or to bring a currently-funded NDP artist to their community for meetings and advance planning to lay the groundwork for touring the NDP project.

National Theater Project Presenter Travel GrantOpen to art presenters and curatorial staff in the United States

Amount(s) rewarded. Reimbursement of up to 70% of the requested travel expenses (typically in the range of $700–$1000, but no maximum).

Who's eligible. Arts presenters and curatorial staff considering NTP projects are eligible to apply for travel support to see the project. Additionally, NTP Creation and Touring Grant recipients may apply for travel funds for themselves or invite others to apply for the purpose of promoting, publicizing, or otherwise advancing their NTP funded project.

Open 4CultureOutside of Seattle, anywhere in King County

Timeline tip. Best to start process at least six weeks from when funding needed

Amount(s) rewarded. $1500

Who's eligible. Projects created by or for audiences of underserved communities, or offers an innovative approach to the arts, historic preservation, or King County heritage and offers public benefit to King County residents and visitors.

Pollock-Krasner Foundation GrantOpen to artists around the world

Amount(s) rewarded. Up to $30,000

Who's eligible. The Foundation provides financial resources for visual artists to create new work, acquire supplies, rent studio space, prepare for exhibitions, attend a residency and offset living expenses. The Foundation welcomes, throughout the year, applications from visual artists who are painters, sculptors and artists who work on paper, including printmakers.

smART ventures grantMust be based in the greater Seattle area

Amount(s) rewarded. Up to $500–$1000

Who's eligible. smART ventures seeks to widen arts and culture participation, particularly of

diverse or underserved communities. Individuals (including youth), groups, organizations, or communities of interest that offer a potential arts or cultural impact within the city of Seattle and need start-up or final investment funds for proposed public events are able to apply. Organizations do NOT have to have 501(c)(3) non-profit status to apply.

Film, Video, and Digital Production GrantsOpen to early career film, digital production and video directors based in New York City and Minnesota. 

Deadline. April 13, 2023, 4:00 p.m. CT

Amount(s) rewarded. Up to $30,000

Who's eligible. Early career individual film directors or co-directing teams working in short and/or long form experimental, narrative, animation or documentary genres, or in any combination of these forms. Applicants must be film directors in their 2nd–10th year in the field, who have completed at least two short or feature-length films, but do not have more than two feature-length films (running time of 50+ minutes or more) released and in distribution.


Applicants of the NYC-facing grant must be residents of one of the 5 boroughs. Applicants of the Minnesota-facing grant must be residents of the state of Minnesota.

Minnesota Film, Video, and Digital Artist Development GrantOpen to early career film, digital production and video directors who are residents of Minnesota. 

Deadline. April 13, 2023, 4:00 p.m. CT

Amount(s) rewarded. Up to $10,000

Who's eligible. Early career individual film directors or co-directing teams with at least 2 years, but no more than 10 years, of experience directing their own films or videos, working in documentary, narrative, experimental or animation, or any combination of these genres. Applicants must have directed, completed and released/screened/distributed at least 2 films. A director(s) who has completed, released and screened more than one feature-length film (running time of 50+ minutes or more) is considered too advanced for this program and is not eligible to apply.

The Awesome Foundation: Disability Grant Open to artists globally, but must be submitted in English

Deadline. April 15, 2023

Amount(s) rewarded. $1000

Who's eligible. The Awesome Foundation is an ever-growing worldwide community devoted to forwarding the interest of awesome in the universe. Center for Cultural Innovation Quick Grant Open to California artists, creatives, cultural practitioners, and cultural producers, and San Francisco/San Jose nonprofit arts administrators for professional development activities

Deadline. April 15, 2023

Amount(s) rewarded. Up to $600

Who's eligible. California artists, creatives, cultural practitioners, and cultural producers, and San Francisco/San Jose nonprofit arts administrators for professional development activities that build administrative capacity, hone business skills, and/or strengthen the financial resilience of the grantee’s practice, area of cultural production, or arts organization.

Locust Projects: Wavemaker Grants Open to visual artists and visual art-adjacent practitioners who reside in Miami-Dade County

Deadline. April 15, 2023

Amount(s) rewarded. Up to $6000 

Who's eligible. Visual artists, curators, arts writers, cultural organizers, collectives, collaborators, and artist-run spaces at all career stages who reside in Miami-Dade County are encouraged to apply. Each year, WaveMaker at Locust Projects awards grants to artists across Miami-Dade County in the categories of New Work / Projects, Long-Haul Projects, and R&D + Implementation.


All projects must engage or be shared with the public in unconventional spaces in Miami-Dade County. This may include exhibitions, performances, events, lectures, workshops, screenings, readings, publications, residencies, programming at artist-run-spaces, online projects, etc. Projects can not be presented at art museums or commercial galleries.  Projects that support inclusion, diversity, equity, and access are strongly encouraged.

++ Balay Kreative Growth Grants 2023Open to to Filipinx, Filipina, and Filipino artists in California's Bay Area.

Deadline. April 17, 2023

Amount(s) rewarded. $3000–$6000

Who's eligible. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, a Bay Area resident, and identify as Filipino, be of Filipina/o/x descent or have a strong connection to the Filipino community/culture. Open to artists who work in the Visual Arts, Music, Performing Arts, or Film/Media/Animation. Projects proposed must be presented in SOMA Pilipinas, San Francisco, at one of SOMA's venues or a venue of the artist's choosing in the SOMA district. 

Mertz Gilmore Dance Research GrantsOpen to dance artists, dance collectives, or dance nonprofits based in Staten Island, New York 

Deadline. April 17, 2023

Amount(s) rewarded. $7500

Who's eligible. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, a Staten Island resident, and looking to develop new work. Ideas for new work can be undeveloped or in the early stages of development but cannot be for work that has already been presented.


Funds will support the research and development of a new dance work and cannot be used towards the presentation costs of any formal presentation of this work.

Anonymous Was A Woman Environmental Art GrantsOpen to women-identifying artists in the United States and U.S. Territories.

Deadline. April 18, 2023, 5:00 p.m. ET

Amount(s) rewarded. Up to $20,000

Who's eligible. Applicants must be women-identifying artists who are at least 18 years; a resident in one of the 50 states, a Tribal Nation, a U.S. Territory, or the District of Columbia; a US citizen, permanent legal resident, or O-1 visa holder; and whose submitted project has a focus on environmental issues.

UMEZ Mertz Gilmore Seed Fund for DanceOpen to individual dance artists, ensembles, collectives, and nonprofit organizations  for dance projects taking place in Upper Manhattan.

Deadline. April 21, 2023, 5:00 p.m. ET

Amount(s) rewarded. $5000

Who's eligible. Applicants must have carried out or participated in publicly accessible dance programming in 2 of the last 5 calendar years. Individual applicants and ensembles must be be year-round residents of Upper Manhattan. Organizations must be headquartered in Upper Manhattan, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with proof of nonprofit status, must have carried out or participated in publicly accessible dance programming in 2 of the last 5 calendar years.


Eligible projects must include a public component accessible and promoted to the public, must take place between June 1 and October 29, 2023, and must show expenses of at least $5,000, among other requirements.

Whiting Foundation Creative Nonfiction GrantWriters with project under contracts with a publisher in Canada, the UK, or the US.

Deadline. April 25, 2023, 11:59 p.m. ET

REVIEW Amount(s) rewarded. $40,000 each to 10 writers

REVIEW Who's eligible. Writers in the process of completing a book-length work of deeply researched and imaginatively composed nonfiction for a general readership. Whiting welcomes applications for works of history, cultural or political reportage, biography, memoir, science, philosophy, criticism, food or travel writing, graphic nonfiction, and personal essays, among other categories.


Projects must be under contract with a publisher in Canada, the UK, or the US by April 25 to be eligible. Contracts with self-publishing companies are not eligible.

The Burke Prize Open to artists with a foundation in glass, fiber, clay, metal, or wood, who reside in the U.S.

Deadline. April 28, 2023

Amount(s) rewarded. $50,000

Who's eligible. Applicants who are between 21 and 45 years old, either a U.S. citizne or legal permanent resident, and a working artist who can demonstrate a commitment to the practice as a professional. Applicants can work in one of the five media (glass, figer, clay, metal, or wood), all five media, a combination of these media, or a combination of these media and others not listed, like video or performance.

Future Generation Art Prize Open to artists around the world who are between 18 and 35 years old

Deadline. April 28, 2023

Amount(s) rewarded. Main prize of $100,000, and five special prizes up to $20,000

Who's eligible. All artists aged 18 to 35 from anywhere in the world, working in any medium are invited to apply for the Prize.


The Future Generation Art Prize is a biannual global contemporary art prize established in 2009 by Victor Pinchuk Foundation to discover, recognize and give long-term support to a future generation of artists. 

Rauschenberg Dancer Emergency Grants: Cycle 8 Must reside in the United States

Deadline. April 28, 2023, 5:00 p.m. ET

Amount(s) rewarded. $5000

Who's eligible. Professional dancers in need, who have a dire financial emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “Dire financial emergencies“ include the lack or imminent endangerment of essentials such as housing, medicine/healthcare, utilities, and food. If you were displaced due to COVID-19, expenses to enable you to return to your working home base are eligible. You must demonstrate an urgent and critical need for emergency support in your application. Artists of color, LGBTQ+ artists, artists with disabilities, and artists living outside of the East and West coasts to apply are strongly encouraged to apply.

Cleveland Arts PrizeOpen to artists in music, visual arts, literature, theatre/dance, and design, who currently or have previously lived and worked in Northeast Ohio

Deadline. May 1, 2023

Amount(s) rewarded. $10,000 each to five artists

Who's eligible. Cleveland Arts Prize promotes creativity in Northeast Ohio by honoring artists for artistic excellence and recognizes community leaders who help regional arts flourish. Applicants must apply in one of the eligible categories—music, visual arts, literature, theatre/dance, and design—and must currently or have previously lived or worked in Northeast Ohio.


Applicants may not apply if already a recipient of an Arts Prize in the same discipline category. They may, however, apply to be considered for a different discipline category.

Rella Lossy AwardOpen to theatre organizations in the Bay Area (i.e. Alameda, Contra Costa,

Marin, San Francisco, or San Mateo)

Deadline. May 1, 2023, 5:00 p.m. PT 

Amount(s) rewarded. $1,000 to a company, $2,500 to a playwright

Who's eligible. Professionally-oriented theatre organizations that will be presenting a world-premiere full-length play by an emerging playwright opening on or after April 1, 2023 and closing before July 1, 2024

Waterston Desert Writing PrizeOpen to literary nonfiction writers around the world

Deadline. May 1, 2023, 11:59 p.m. PT 

Amount(s) rewarded. $3000

Who's eligible. High Desert Museum's Waterston Prize provides financial and other support to writers whose work reflects a connection to the desert similar to that of the Prize's namesake, author and poet Ellen Waterston. Eligible works must recognize the vital role deserts play worldwide in the ecosystem and the human narrative.


The award supports literary nonfiction writers who are completing, proposing, or considering the creation of a book-length manuscript.

CALI Catalyst, Cycle 1 of 2Open to artists or arts workers in California

Deadline. May 3, 2023, 12:00 p.m. PT

Amount(s) rewarded. $7500

Who's eligible. CALI Catalyst funds California changemakers who are shifting the arts and culture sector in ways that tangibly give underrepresented voices more power and influence. Applicants must be an artist or arts worker (e.g., arts administrator, cultural producer, culture bearer, creative, cultural practitioner, teaching artist, or specialized technician) who is a full-time resident of California. Additionally, an applicant’s action must have taken place or commenced (i.e., the action is still in progress) on or after January 1, 2020.
