Adobe Creative Residency Community FundOpen to artists around the world who are at least 18 years old

Amount(s) rewarded. $500–$5000

Who's eligible. Creators of visual work (especially in video, photography, illustration, graphic design, and/or product/interface design (UI/UX)), who are proficient in English (except for Japanese candidates, who must be proficient in Japanese), at least 18 years old (no advanced degree needed), and owner of a PayPal account or bank account in their name.

The Adolph & Esther Gottlieb Emergency GrantOpen to artists around the world

Amount(s) rewarded. Up to $15,000; most typically $5000

Who's eligible. The Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Emergency Grant program is intended to provide interim financial assistance to qualified painters, printmakers, and sculptors whose needs are the result of an unforeseen, catastrophic incident, and who lack the resources to meet that situation. An artist must be able to demonstrate a minimum involvement of ten years in a mature phase of their work. Artists must work in the disciplines of painting, sculpture or printmaking.

The Awesome Foundation: Homelessness Open to artists globally, but must be submitted in English

Amount(s) rewarded. $1000

Who's eligible. The Awesome Foundation is an ever-growing worldwide community devoted to forwarding the interest of awesome in the universe. Additional grants in a variety of categories or "chapters" are given out, including grants for projects taking place in specific global and U.S. cities.

The Awesome Foundation: On the Water Grant Open to artists globally, but must be submitted in English

Amount(s) rewarded. $1000

Who's eligible. The Awesome Foundation is an ever-growing worldwide community devoted to forwarding the interest of awesome in the universe. Additional grants in a variety of categories or "chapters" are given out, including grants for projects taking place in specific global and U.S. cities.


For this chapter, The Awesome Foundation is interested in "proposals where a strong connection to the water has been established and where you can provide us with a clear sense of your project’s anticipated reach."

>> Colorado Artist Relief Fund Open to artists in Colorado

Amount(s) rewarded. Up to $1000

Who's eligible. The Colorado Artist Relief Fund supports artists experiencing economic distress as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Disciplines include visual, digital, film, music, performing, and teaching. Artists will need to show that their incomes are being adversely affected due to the cancellation of events, classes, performances, and other creative work.


Grant funding may be used for basic expenses including food, rent, medical costs, childcare. It may also be used for the development of skills, applications, or equipment that will allow you to transition your income-generating practices to online or virtual platforms or practices.

Epic MegaGrantsOpen to developers around the world

Amount(s) rewarded. $5000–$500,000

Application fee. NA 

Who's eligible. Epic Games is looking to support anyone doing amazing things with Unreal Engine or for the 3D graphics ecosystem. Grants cover a variety of endeavors from game development, architecture projects, and film/TV production, to academic uses and software tool development.

Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency GrantsMust reside in the United States or U.S. territories

Timeline tip. Best to start process at least eights weeks from when funding is needed

Amount(s) rewarded. $500–$3000

Who's eligible. Emergency Grants is a multi-disciplinary program that supports visual and performing artists whose work is of a contemporary, experimental nature. Artists who apply must:

Mary Mason Lemonade FundOpen to current or past theatre practitioners in San Francisco with terminal or life-threatening illnesses

Amount(s) rewarded. $250, $500, $1000

Who's eligible. Any resident of the San Francisco Bay Area who has worked professionally or vocationally in local theatre or has been an active participant in the theatre community, regardless of the income derived from work in the theatre (with two years' experience minimum in the last five years), and has received a diagnosis of a terminal or life-threatening medical illness or condition is eligible to apply for the program.

National Dance Project Travel FundOpen to artists and art staff in the United States

Timeline tip. Application is due 40 days or more prior to the date of departure.

Amount(s) rewarded. Reimbursement of up to 50% of the requested travel expenses, not exceeding $500.

Who's eligible. Artists currently in the creation or touring period of work supported by an NDP Production Grant; and curators, presenters, residency directors, or related staff (such as program or production staff) to either travel to see works currently eligible for NDP presentation support to determine if they will be able to present the NDP work in their community or to bring a currently-funded NDP artist to their community for meetings and advance planning to lay the groundwork for touring the NDP project.

National Theater Project Presenter Travel GrantOpen to art presenters and curatorial staff in the United States

Amount(s) rewarded. Reimbursement of up to 70% of the requested travel expenses (typically in the range of $700–$1000, but no maximum).

Who's eligible. Arts presenters and curatorial staff considering NTP projects are eligible to apply for travel support to see the project. Additionally, NTP Creation and Touring Grant recipients may apply for travel funds for themselves or invite others to apply for the purpose of promoting, publicizing, or otherwise advancing their NTP funded project.

Open 4CultureOutside of Seattle, anywhere in King County

Timeline tip. Best to start process at least six weeks from when funding needed

Amount(s) rewarded. $1500

Who's eligible. Projects created by or for audiences of underserved communities, or offers an innovative approach to the arts, historic preservation, or King County heritage and offers public benefit to King County residents and visitors.

Pollock-Krasner Foundation GrantOpen to artists around the world

Amount(s) rewarded. Up to $30,000

Who's eligible. The Foundation provides financial resources for visual artists to create new work, acquire supplies, rent studio space, prepare for exhibitions, attend a residency and offset living expenses. The Foundation welcomes, throughout the year, applications from visual artists who are painters, sculptors and artists who work on paper, including printmakers.

smART ventures grantMust be based in the greater Seattle area

Amount(s) rewarded. Up to $500–$1000

Who's eligible. smART ventures seeks to widen arts and culture participation, particularly of

diverse or underserved communities. Individuals (including youth), groups, organizations, or communities of interest that offer a potential arts or cultural impact within the city of Seattle and need start-up or final investment funds for proposed public events are able to apply. Organizations do NOT have to have 501(c)(3) non-profit status to apply.

CERF+: Get Ready Grant Open to working artists in a craft discipline who reside in the U.S.

Deadline. March 7, 2023

Amount(s) rewarded. Up to $500

Who's eligible. CERF+’s Get Ready program provides individual craft artists grants to conduct activities that will help safeguard their studios, protect their careers and prepare for emergencies.  Priority will be given to applications from people who identify in the global majority or as Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) and folk and traditional artists. Applicants must have been residing and working in the U.S. or U.S. Territories for the last two years.

National Endowment for the Arts: Creative Writing Fellowship/Grant in Prose Open to published prose writers who reside in the U.S.

Deadline. March 8, 2023

Amount(s) rewarded. $25,000

Who's eligible. Writers who had any of the following types of work published for the first time with an eligible publisher between January 1, 2016, and March 8, 2023. 

ThrillerFest BIPOC Author Scholarship Open to BIPOC thriller writers 

Deadline. March 10, 2023, 11:59 p.m. EST

Amount(s) rewarded. $1000 + free pass to ThrillerFest 2023 in New York City

Who's eligible. BIPOC writers whose thriller manuscript features a BIPOC protagonist. Applicant must be prepared to share the opening ten pages (maximum of 2500 words) of the work.

ThrillerFest Unpublished Author Scholarship Open to unpublished authors writing a mystery/thriller novel

Deadline. March 10, 2023, 11:59 p.m. EST

Amount(s) rewarded. $1000 + free pass to ThrillerFest 2023 in New York City

Who's eligible. Unpublished authors who are writing a mystery/thriller novel. Applicant must be prepared to share the opening ten pages (maximum of 2500 words) of the novel.

Ethnic Media Outreach Grants 2023 Open to corporate or nonprofit organizations in California

Deadline. March 13, 2023, 5:00 p.m. PT

Amount(s) rewarded. $40,000 – $400,000

Who's eligible. Applicants must be a corporate or non-profit organization in good standing with the State of California, and may apply in partnership but only one organization is the lead applicant. Individuals cannot apply.


Applicants are encouraged to seek additional investment in their project – ideally a dollar-for-dollar (1:1) match, if possible and applicable. The match may be from corporate contributions, private contributions, local government, earned income or in-kind.


Grantees must educate and engage communities about hate incidents and hate crimes. Increase awareness of the Stop the Hate program and the services provided. Reduce stigma surrounding the reporting of hate incidents and hate crimes. Boost the use of services by survivors. Promote community healing and cross-cultural and cross-racial collaboration.

American Composers Form: ACF | create Open to music creators who reside in Minnesota or New York City and have a collaborative partner

Deadline. March 14, 2023, 5:00 p.m. CT

Amount(s) rewarded. $3000 and $8000

Who's eligible. Applicant music creator must be a resident of the state of Minnesota or one of the five boroughs of New York City and have been resident for at least one year prior to application. need to be at the early stages of their creative development; have a focused direction and are actively creating new work; have yet to be substantially celebrated within their field, the media, funding circles, or public at large; are vocational (as opposed to avocational, academic, amateur, or educational) artists. The music creator must apply with a collaborative partner (such as a performing group or a presenter) that is committed to presenting the finished work. The collaborative partner can be based anywhere in the world.

The Awesome Foundation: Disability Grant Open to artists globally, but must be submitted in English

Deadline. March 15, 2023

Amount(s) rewarded. $1000

Who's eligible. The Awesome Foundation is an ever-growing worldwide community devoted to forwarding the interest of awesome in the universe. Additional grants in a variety of categories or "chapters" are given out, several with rolling deadlines, including grants for projects taking place in specific global and U.S. cities.

Asian American Arts Alliance (A4) Jadin Wong Fellowship in Dance Open to Asian dancers and/or choreographers who currently reside in New York City

Deadline. March 20, 2023, 11:59 p.m. ET

Amount(s) rewarded. $6000 + 8-month fellowship May–December 2023

Who's eligible. The Jadin Wong Fellowship is awarded to an early-career Asian American dancer/choreographer who resides in New York City (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, or Staten Island), age 30 or younger, who has at least two years of experience in presented dance, whose work shows outstanding promise, who may benefit from further professional artistic development, and who isn't currently enrolled as a full-time or part-time student in a degree-granting program during the fellowship period.

Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation: USArtists International Open to artists in the U.S.

Deadline. March 29, 2023

Amount(s) rewarded. $1000–$12,000

Who's eligible. USAI® supports in-person and virtual performances by American artists at engagements at international festivals and global presenting arts marketplaces outside of the United States. The program funds individuals and ensembles across all performing arts practices and disciplines. 


Applications to USAI must meet eligibility criteria in each of the three areas—Artist, Festival/Performing Arts Market, Engagement—to be eligible for the program. Applicants must be U.S. dance, music, or theater ensembles and/or individual artists designated as nonprofit organizations or partnered with a fiscal sponsor.

Maya Angelou Book Award Open to book-published poets who reside in the U.S.

Deadline. March 31, 2023, 11:59 p.m. CDT

Amount(s) rewarded. $10,000

Who's eligible. Authors who are 18 years old or older, reside in the U.S., and whose works are submitted by their publisher; authors cannot submit independently. Works must have been published in 2022 or have a scheduled publication date through November 2023.

Nervous Ghost Prize: Poetry Open to poets of all ages, either living in the U.S. or with a valid U.S. mailing address

Deadline. March 31, 2023, 11:59 pm. PT

Amount(s) rewarded. $1000 advance on royalties

Who's eligible. Applicants of any age, but those younger than 18 years old must submit a permission to apply from parent or legal guardian. Applicants can be previously published, but cannot submit previously published work. All genres, except translations, are accepted.

Nervous Ghost Prize: Prose Open to authors or all ages, either living in the U.S. or with a valid U.S. mailing address

Deadline. March 31, 2023, 11:59 p.m. PT

Restless Book Prize in Nonfiction: New Immigrant Writing Open to nonfiction writers who have not previously published a book in English

Deadline. March 31, 2023

Amount(s) rewarded. $10,000 + publication by Restless Books

Who's eligible. Applicants must be first-generation residents of their country. Submissions must consist of either a complete manuscript, or a sample of at least 25,000 words and a detailed proposal that includes a synopsis and an annotated table of contents. All submissions must be in English (translations welcome). Agented submissions are welcome.

Wild Futures: Art, Culture, Impact Open to working artists in the visual arts and/or film/moving image, who are U.S. citizens

Deadline. March 31, 2023, 4:00 p.m. ET

Amount(s) rewarded. Up to $50,000

Who's eligible. Applicants must be at least 25 years old, a U.S. citizen, and have at least five years of professional artistic practice. Work must be in the visual arts or film/moving image as listed below:

Artadia Awards: Chicago Open to visual artists in Chicago, IL

Deadline. April 1, 2023

Amount(s) rewarded. TK

Who's eligible. The Artadia Awards provide financial support, exposure and recognition to artists. The awards are unrestricted, allowing artists to use the funds in any way they choose.


Applicants must be a contemporary visual artist who currently lives and works in Chicago and resided there for at least two years prior to the application deadline, making artwork for presentation in a contemporary art context: museum, galleries, arts non-profit, the public art realm, etc. Artadia does not fund filmmakers making films for distribution in cinematic venues, or those working in choreography presented outside of a contemporary art context. Unless applying as a collaborative, you must be the sole conceptual author of the artwork submitted in the application; if there are collaborators that share authorship of submitted work they must be clearly identified and credited.

Delaware Division of the Arts: Individual Artist Fellowship Open to artists residing in Delaware

Deadline. April 1, 2023

Amount(s) rewarded. Up to $1000

Who's eligible. Artist Opportunity Grants are awarded on a competitive basis to support unique professional and artistic development and presentation opportunities for artists. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, reside in Delaware, and must have been a resident for at least one year prior to the application deadline.

PEN America: U.S. Writers Aid Initiative Open to professional writers in the U.S.

Deadline. April 1, 2023

Amount(s) rewarded. Up to $3500

Who's eligible. The U.S. Writers Aid Initiative is intended to assist published fiction and nonfiction authors, published poets, playwrights, screenwriters, translators, and published journalists in addressing short-term financial emergencies.

Vermont Arts Council: Creation Grant Open to individual artists and artist groups residing in Vermont.

Deadline. April 3, 2023, 1:00 p.m. ET

Amount(s) rewarded. Up to $5000

Who's eligible. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have been residents of Vermont for a minimum of one year prior to the application deadline, and will be residents at the time the award is granted.


Artist groups must have at least one member who meets all the above requirements who will serve as the lead applicant and project coordinator. 


Applicants for this grant may also indicate interest in being considered for the People's Choice Creation Grant, but are not required to do so.

Vermont Arts Council: People's Choice Creation Grant Open to individual artists and artist groups residing in Vermont.

Deadline. April 3, 2023, 1:00 p.m. ET

Amount(s) rewarded. Up to $5000

Who's eligible. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have been residents of Vermont for a minimum of one year prior to the application deadline, and will be residents at the time the award is granted.
